I think I have a little problem...

Another beautiful Florida Friday....oh and a Estate sale full of vintage finds!!!

Vintage sheets and linens have become my weakness.....I must start repurposing them!

Who can pass up vintage pom pom trim, velvet ribbon and old measuring tapes??

I absolutely love these vintage Thank you notes!  What is your estate sale weakness??

Crazy for Estate Sales

For a vintage loving thrifty girl like me an estate sale is Heaven on Earth!

I am crazy for vintage linens....just the sight of these towels and sheets takes me back to my childhood and the memories of running through the sheets on my grandma's clothes line.  I can still smell the freshness!

as a mixed media artist my heart races when I find old sheet music and vintage art books!

I just love the images and ads in old magazines....

And this old Electrolux Users manual had me at hello....the images are....to.die.for.

I can't wait to uses these old spanish prints in my art!

And the best for last......a folder filled with Peruvian vacation momentos from 1970 with Peruvian money!!!  It paid for my Estate sale haul!!

One Little Word

This is the first year that I have picked a meaningful word to guide me in the new year. I have always been a person who was afraid of change...I like things to remain the same....but life does not work that way. In order to grow you must go through change. Over the last 3 years we have been thrust into a cycle of change, some of it has been self inflicted, some of it has been out of our control, some of it has been devastating, and some of it has been a blessing. In 2013 my family will be experiencing some changes that I feel will be the pinnacle of this cycle....so I have decided to face it, embrace it and enjoy the ride!!! Have you picked a word to guide you and your family through this next year?

Spreading Joy

I love reviving crafts from my childhood and this one did not disappoint!  Lately I have been seeing String Art in all of the super cool store windows so I decided to try my hand at it.  It took me a few minutes to get the hang of it but I finally got into a groove.  I love the way it turned out!

What kinds of Retro Crafts would you like to learn and create?

Couples Vision Board Workshop

Last Saturday Morning I hosted a Couples Vision Board Workshop at The Craft Shack.  Let me tell you it was the most amazing experience!  I was pleasantly surprised at how the men just jumped in and participated!  There were couples at all stages in their relationship. One couple was newly engaged and created a Wedding and newly married Dream Board.  At the end all of the couples shared their board with the group and it was so amazing the differences in each board!

At one point in the morning I was moved to tears.  Out of the blue it struck me...this is why I created The Craft Shack.  I love watching people creatively engage with others.  I love watching people realize their God given creative potential!

My creative wheels are spinning!  I have so many ideas for Vision Board Workshops!  Visually posting your dreams and vision for the things you really want in your life is key to obtaining them!

Have you ever wanted to create a vision board for your future life?  What kinds of workshops would you like to see offered at The Craft Shack?

Cheerful and Happy

I love this quote by Martha Washington!  I came across it here and it reminded me that everybody has times that are hard but we have a choice on how we respond to those tough times!  I take a mental day about once a month but I always remember that no matter what my circumstances are I am lucky and blessed to have this life and I don't want to waste too much time wallowing in my sorrows...life is too short and I don't want to miss a thing!

Friday Fill-ins...
